Who can use Authorize.Net?
Any business with a computer, Internet access, and a valid merchant account from a bank or merchant provider that is compatible with the Nova, Paymentech, VITAL or FDR-Nashville credit card processing network can use Authorize.Net. If you don’t have a merchant account yet, we can provide you an Authorize.Net compatible merchant account. Just fill out the online merchant account application to get started. Top
Do I need credit card processing software or terminals?
No, Authorize.Net replaces standard authorization terminals or software. Top
Can I purchase the components separately?
No. The Virtual Terminal, Simple Integration and Advanced Integration are all standard features of Authorize.Net and are not sold separately as some companies are falsely advertising. Top
Do I have to place my site on Authorize.Net’s server?
No, transaction processing is done remotely and you are free to host your site on any server you chose. Top
Do I need a secure site?
No, you don’t need a secure site. You are provided with a secure payment form to process transactions, so there is no need for you to purchase a secure certificate. This can save you a substantial amount of money per year. Top
How does Authorize.Net integrate with my site?
The Merchant or their webmaster must establish a link between the Authorize.Net gateway and the merchant’s website by placing some simple linking HTML code on the merchant’s web site and installing the scripts that are provided to you. Top
Can I customize the payment form?
Yes, the payment form can be customized. You can have your own logo and background graphics or color for the page to take on the site’s original appearance. You can also have your own text color, link color, and background color. Optional text can be added by filling in the displayed fields. Top
Will Authorize.Net work with my shopping cart software?
Authorize.Net supports many available shopping cart software, so it integrates easily with most e-commerce solutions. A list of compatible shopping carts is available here. Top
Can this service process many transactions at one time?
Authorize.Net can process an unlimited number of credit card transactions simultaneously. Top
Can I do recurring billing with Authorize.Net?
Definitely! Authorize.Net can facilitate recurring billing. This service can also be used with eCheck. Merchants who may not even have a Web site – such as fitness clubs, subscription services, health care practitioners, tanning salons, etc. can use this service to charge their customers. Top
When and how do the batches get settled?
Batches of transactions are settled once per day, at midnight of your time zone. Batch settlement is done automatically by Authorize.Net, hence, you will not need to manually settle the transactions. Top
When is money deposited into my account?
After Authorize.Net settles a batch of transactions, the funds usually take between two and three days to be deposited into your account for credit cards, and about seven days for eCheck transactions. Top
How do I order Authorize.Net?
If you don’t have a merchant account yet, please fill out the online merchant account application and select Authorize.Net as your processing option and you are on your way. If you are an existing credit card merchant processing through Nova, Paymentech or FDR-Nashville credit card processing network, email us and we’ll help you to get set up right away. Top
How long does it take to get set-up?
Once the merchant has been approved for his merchant account (most accounts are approved in 72 hours), the Authorize.Net account can be up in just minutes. We will then post an e-mail informing the merchant of the login site along with the Login ID and password. Top
