A credit card imprinter allows you to take a manual imprint of the credit card on a 2 part carbon imprinter receipt. Your business name is also imprinted on the receipt via a custom plate that is embossed with your company information, giving a nice professional look. The customer then signs the carbon receipt, and you keep the original and give the other copy to the customer.

An imprinter is also great to use if you are processing with a method that does not have a printer, such as with a Tranz 380 or using Dialpay Phone Processing, or it can also be used by merchants using Authorize.net who want to take orders face to face and then key them in later via the Authorize.net virtual terminal. An imprinter is also a great backup in case your credit card POS terminal is not working.
